Greyson Fletcher was born March 8, 1991 in Orange County, California but he later took up residence in Anaheim with his mother. He is a fourth generation surfer after his grandfather, father and uncle. Although he is an excellent surfer, his passion is skateboarding and his peers in the extreme sport consider him a skating phenomenon. Fletcher has traveled extensively across the U. S. and Hawaii to do skate clinics and demos. Fletcher’s abilities have made him a favorite rider action sports brands including VANS, RVCA and Sabre Vision. He has also appeared on several publications such as ESPN Mag, Happy Mag, Monster Children and Juice Magazine.
Fletcher later got tapped by the series executive David Mitch for a role in the HBO drama “John from Cincinnati.” Despite it being his first foray into acting, Fletcher was immediately a series regular upon getting cast. He landed the part of Shaun Yost, the son of former surfing icon now drug junkie, Butchie Yost. Because his father is unable to care for him, Shaun has been legally adopted and raised by his grandparents, Mitch and Cissy Yost.
Aside from skateboarding, Fletcher has also admitted to having a fondness for snowboarding and juggling. One of his favorite video games is Halo 2 and the type of music he enjoys is Norwegian death metal, techno and rap. When he was 12 years old, he was seen on the popular grom skating DVD Next Invasion. In addition to that, he claims that his favorite animals are frogs.
During an interview with ESPN, he has revealed that he plans to get a number of tattoos. As a child, he took his first ride on a skateboard belonging to his father, Christian Fletcher. Greyson said, “When I’m skating, I feel weightless. I don't even feel myself.”
