Born Vincent Sennen Garcia on January 14, 1970 in Maili on the Westside of Oahu, Hawaii, “Sunny” grew up in Waianae and after leaving school, debuted in the 1986 Gotcha Pro at Sandy Beach, Oahu where he defeated the 1984 World Champion, Tom Carroll.
His greatest surfing achievement was becoming the ASP World Championship Tour Champion in 2000 but he also holds the record for most World Qualifying Series event wins at 22 and holds six Triple Crown of Surfing titles. In addition, he was the second professional surfer to win over $1 million in prize money. Today Sunny is bouncing between California and Hawaii, you can still find Sunny rusting around the track, training or dominating Haleiwa.
